  • Areas or movements that cause pain

Additional Testing

If needed, updated imaging or lab tests may be ordered to better understand your condition.

Treatment Options

Your surgeon will discuss:

  • Recommended treatments or procedures
  • Benefits and potential risks
  • Expected recovery timeline

Questions to Ask

We encourage you to ask questions, such as:

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How long will my first appointment take?

Most initial consultations last between 30–60 minutes, depending on the complexity of your condition.

Do I need a referral to be seen?

Some insurance plans require a referral. Please check with your insurance provider or contact our office if you are unsure.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy examination of the affected area (e.g., shorts for knee issues).

Will I need imaging during my visit?

If you bring recent imaging within the last 6 months, additional tests may not be necessary. However, new imaging may be ordered if needed.

Will I have surgery right away?

Not necessarily. Many orthopedic conditions can be managed with non-surgical treatments. Surgery is only recommended when appropriate.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes, you are welcome to bring a family member or friend for support and to help remember important information.

How should I prepare my questions?

Write them down ahead of time so you don’t forget. This helps make your visit more productive.
